When talented Nigerian Musician and Chipper ambassador, Simi began the #NobodyLikeWoman Challenge on Instagram, it didn’t take long before women from all walks of life to pour out their hearts, sharing some of the challenges they had faced simply because they were women.

According to Simi, the challenge helps others understand the tags, stereotypes, and the generalized view or preconception about women. It also focuses on helping women rise above ignorant things that are said about them.

I'm grateful for every Woman that is standing in the gap for all of us. Your vulnerability is courage.

I hope that, going forward, we are mindful of the words we say and the seeds that we plant. #NobodyLikeWoman

On Instagram alone, the #NobodyLikeWoman hashtag has over 29,000 posts while Facebook and Twitter are buzzing with videos and photos daily.

We took some time out to speak with Simi about what inspired her to write the song behind the challenge and how she feels about partnering with Chipper Cash to celebrate women. Here’s what she had to say:

Where did the idea behind the #NobodyLikeWoman campaign come from?

I speak often about women and their struggles and sometimes I find that people focus more on me than on the things I'm saying, so I wanted to add the voices of other women to mine. I wanted people to know it isn't just about me. It's about their mothers, wives, daughters, girlfriends, sisters, and all the women in their lives.

What was the inspiration behind the song?

My experiences over the years. As women, regardless of personality and life choices, we share certain life experiences. Some good, some bad. I thought it would make more impact if I put it in a song. It's my forte. People have to listen.

On how she felt about partnering with Chipper on the #NobodylikeWomen campaign.

It's really simple. Chipper saw the need to be part of a movement that celebrates women. The team at Chipper didn't need prodding or convincing. They knew it was important to be on the right side of history. They wanted to be a part of the change we're trying to effect. Who wouldn't be excited to partner with a team like that?
